Sefton Silvertop was hybridized by John Wood (UK), and introduced in 2016.
Characteristics:
Form: Laciniated (LC) — This is its most distinctive feature. The petals (ray florets) are finely split or "fringed" at the tips, giving the bloom a beautifully delicate, lacy, or frilled texture.
Color: Light Blend (LB) — Starts with soft cream or crisp white centers and the petals feature blush pink, soft pink, lilac-pink, or lavender edging. As the flowers mature, they often develop a subtle silvery sheen (hence the "Silvertop" name), creating a sophisticated, two-tone effect.
Bloom Size: Small to Medium (BB or M) — Typically measures 3 to 5 inches (approx. 8–12 cm) in diameter, making it an excellent size for bouquets.
Height: Tall — A vigorous grower, often reaching 3 to 5 feet (approx. 1–1.4 meters) tall, making staking likely necessary.
Performance:
- Vigor: A vigorous and floriferous plant, producing sturdy, long stems ideal for cutting.
- Aesthetic: The delicate fringed petals and soft coloring make it perfect for romantic, vintage-inspired bouquets and garden displays.
