Rose Toscano Dahlia is a show-winning formal decorative variety hybridized by Harvey & Beverly Brown (US), introduced in 1991.
Characteristics:
Form:Ā Formal Decorative (FD), though some growers classify it as a Miniature Ball due to its petite, rounded shape. The classic round form is a frequent winner on the dahlia show circuit.
Color: Soft Apricot/Peachy-Orange. The color is a beautiful blend, often described as a muted bronzy peach, salmon-buff, or sunrise orange that can lean toward a pink palette. It is a warm, hard-to-find color that pairs well with virtually any other color.
Bloom Size: Miniature (M), typically between 2 to 4 inches (approx. 5 to 10 cm).
Height: Medium/Compact, generally grows to 3 to 4.5 feet (approx. 90 to 137 cm) tall.
Performance:
- Exceptional Production: It is highly valued for being a prolific bloomer that produces "buckets and buckets" of flowers and continues strongly until frost
- Ideal Cut Flower: The blooms grow on long, strong, straight stems, making them perfect for cutting and arranging. It is especially popular with wedding and event designers for its soft, versatile color
- Tuber Health: It has a reputation as an excellent tuber producer, with one farmer noting the tubers are often "perfectly formed" and store well over winter.
- Grower (me!) favorite. Thumbs up awarded for being a prolific bloomer, strong stems, beautiful colour, perfect size for bouquets (not difficult to work with), long vase life (over 3 days).
Please note that the listing is for one tuber.
