Mission Zest was hybridized by David Jack of Ferncliff Gardens in Canada and introduced around 2020.

Characteristics:

Form: Formal Decorative (FD)—The blooms are highly symmetrical, fully double, with flat, broad petals that are uniformly arranged and slightly recurved towards the stem. This consistent form is prized in the cut flower industry.

Color: Orange (OR) / Dark Blend (DB)—The color is a warm, soft shade, often described using terms like:

  • Primary Color: Golden Peach, Buff Orange, Apricot, or Muted Apricot.
  • Effect: The color is luminous, providing a warm glow that is excellent for mixing with a wide range of colors.

Bloom Size: Miniature (M)—Blooms are consistently small, generally sized between 2 and 4 inches (5–10 cm) in diameter, with many sources citing 3 inches.

Height: Medium to Tall, generally growing between 3 and $4\frac{1}{2}$ feet (90–135 cm).

Performance: Exceptionally floriferous. Blooms steadily from midsummer to frost, smothering plants with color all season long. Excellent for cutting, with strong stems and a compact habit. A prolific tuber producer.
