La Belle Époque Dahlia (The Beautiful Era) Dahlia lives up to its sophisticated name, capturing the romantic, faded elegance of a bygone era.

Characteristics:

Form: Primarily classified as an Informal Decorative (ID) or simply Decorative (D). Some growers also describe it as having a Semi-Cactus or laciniated influence, thanks to its elegantly layered and slightly rolled petals that give the bloom a lush, almost vintage, fully-rounded appearance.

Colour: A dynamic and complex Light Blend (LB) of antique shades. It features a stunning mix of soft peach, dusky rose, warm apricot, and caramel tones, which deepen into smoky pink and rosy mauve as the flowers mature and the season progresses. The center often shows hints of gold or a richer, plum color, giving it a painterly depth.

Bloom Size: BB (Small to Medium), with blooms typically measuring 4 to 6 inches (10–15 cm) in diameter.

Height: A tall, vigorous, and multi-branching plant, usually growing between 3.5 to 4 feet (100–120 cm) tall.

Performance: Blooms from summer through fall. Multi-branching habit with strong stems makes it ideal for cutting. Pinch at 12 inches to encourage bushiness. Vase life is approximately 5 days when harvested at three-quarters open.
