Jowey Chantal

Jowey Nicky is a gorgeous and highly vigorous variety from the renowned "Jowey" series, hybridized by Jozef Weyts and introduced in 2008. It is praised for being a hard-working, high-performing "flame blend" dahlia.

Characteristics:

Form: Formal Decorative (FD) or Ball (BA). While many sources describe the perfectly rounded shape as a Ball dahlia, the American Dahlia Society (ADS) classifies it as a Formal Decorative due to the slight flatness of the florets, though its overall appearance is very neat and spherical.

Color: A vibrant, two-tone blend of Orange and Yellow (classified as a Flame Blend (FL)).

• The blooms carry the intense colors of a burning sunset, featuring a base of sunny orange-yellow that transitions to a deep orange blush or burnt orange at the tips and edges.
• It is often described as having a glowing or fiery effect in the garden.

Bloom Size: Small (BB), typically measuring 3 to 4 inches (7–10 cm) in diameter.

Height: A robust and tall plant, commonly reaching 3 to 4 feet (90–120 cm) or more.

Performance:

• Productivity: This is a garden workhorse known for its extreme productivity, providing an abundant number of blooms throughout the season until the first frost.
• Cut Flower Quality: Highly valued by florists for its sturdy, strong stems and durable, round blooms. The flame blend color scheme makes it a fantastic accent, blending well with both hot-toned (reds, yellows) and cool-toned (pinks, purples) bouquets.
