BQ Blush

Bloomquist Blush was hybridized by Paul Bloomquist and was introduced in 2017.

Color: Light Blend (LB). A beautiful blend of creamy butter-yellow or clear-cream petals with a soft pink blush or lavender picotée (fine edging) on the tips. 

Form: Stellar (ST). This is the official ADS classification, meaning the petals are partially involute (rolled inward) and pointed. However, many growers note its shape leans more toward a Formal Decorative due to the density of the petals.

Bloom Size:Small (BB). Typically measures 5 to 6 inches (12.5–15 cm) in diameter. ADS Size Classification: ST (Stellar, over 2 inches).

Height: Medium-Tall. Grows to approximately 4 to 4.5 feet (120–135 cm) tall.

Performance: Top-Tier Cut Flower. It is listed as an "Exhibition Dahlia" and a "must-grow" for cut flower farmers. It is vigorous, very productive, and has strong stems. Vase life is highly dependent on harvest stage: blooms picked when about half open last longer (up to 6 days) than fully open ones. It also makes thin, but prolific, tubers.
