20th Ave Pink Cloud is a stunning and highly anticipated dahlia, introduced in 2024 by hybridizer Rich Gibson of 20th Ave Dahlias. This variety has quickly become a favorite among floral designers and dahlia enthusiasts for its unique, sophisticated color palette and perfectly structured form.
Characteristics:
Form: Formal Decorative (FD) — The petals are tightly and uniformly arranged, slightly rounded, and neatly overlapped, forming a dense, symmetrical bloom that tends toward a ball shape.
Colour: Pink (PK) / Pink Blend (PB) — The color is its most defining and complex feature, offering a mature, moody take on pink:
- Main Hue: A delicate, smoky, dusty pink that gives the flower an ethereal, cloud-like appearance.
- Undertones: The petals often carry a hint of terracotta or salmon beneath the pink, and the center may feature a deeper blush of raspberry or rose, creating wonderful depth.
Bloom Size: Small (BB) — Blooms are typically sized between 4 and 6 inches (10–15 cm) in diameter. The smaller size makes it an excellent focal point or texture element in bouquets.
Height:Â Medium to Tall, generally growing around 4 feet (120 cm).
Performance:Â Prized as a premium cut flower due to its sturdy habit and long-lasting, visually appealing color. It is known to be a vigorous and prolific bloomer, producing an abundance of perfectly formed flowers throughout the season.
